Miles to Go Before I Sleep

marathon

Brunda, Somu, Sandeep, Sudarshan, Mora, Rajasekhar, Bala, Harish, Aniruddha - so what is common to all of them?

Firstly, they are all AID volunteers. Moreover, they also ran a 26.2 mile marathon, and trained for at least 400 miles prior to that. They ran, hoping to bring about a change in India. None of them had ever run a mile before they started training. What motivated them to go for the rigorous trainings that started at 6 am every Saturday morning, irrespective of the heat, cold, rain and snow?

"The hope that one more family can get sheltered from the fast approaching frigid winters with another stride I take will be more than enough to energize me", reasons Rajasekhar.

"Each mile for a smile", comes the succint reply from Sandeep

"I am running so that kids rescued from sex-trafficking by Odanadi can be supported", says Brunda, who visited the Odanadi project in Mysore.
