Steel City march reflects society's growing concern

AID Pittsburgh volunteer, Ravikant Pathak writes about a sustainability march that was facilitated by the chapter in October.

What is common to 200 people who marched 4 miles on October 7? It is our concern for sustainable living. The march, held under the auspices of the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh chapter of AID, underscored  the need for sustainable living. With no external funding, we prepared all publicity material using waste paper. We encouraged participants to bring water and served them apples instead of packaged food and drinks. At the end of the march, several speakers shared their efforts in promoting sustainable lifestyle.
