Recently Approved Projects

Adivasi Mukti Sangatan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra ($4,450 Boston): Building awareness of their heritage, and developing health and education among tribal communities.

Community Environment Monitoring (Phase II), Tamil Nadu ($2,000 Austin, Bay Area): Enabling pollution-impacted communities in Cuddalore to monitor, document and communicate its impact on health and environment.

Aranyika, Andhra Pradesh ($5,000 College Park): Strengthening civic bodies  (e.g., panchayat) by partnering with villagers and government officials in 14 villages.

Eureka Model School, Tamil Nadu ($4,500 Tempe): Continued support to Eureka model school, an ongoing effort by AID Tamil Nadu to improve learning quality.

Kalpavriksh, Delhi and Maharashtra ($5,800 Bay Area): Spreading awareness about conservation of urban greenery and creating a network of experts, concerned citizens, media, NGOs, environmental groups, development planners, and government officials to initiate people-based actions.

Rural Technology Center, Orissa ($17,000 Austin, San Diego, Tempe): Ongoing support to AID Orissa's efforts in training rural youth in technology.

Rural Volunteer Center, Assam ($2,500 Austin): Supporting the formation of duryug samitis for combating flood-related issues.

Samaj Parivartana Samudaya, Karnataka ($5,500 Dallas, Houston): Empowering rural poor in governance, and land and water management, in the Kumaranahalli cluster of villages.

Samrakshan Trust, Meghalaya ($3,500 Columbus): Integrating conservation and development initiatives such that local forest communities realize their strong stake in protecting and regenerating surrounding ecology.

Samvada - Gundya campaign, Karnataka ($4,000 Bay Area): Supporting the human and environmental struggle against the Gundya hydroelectric project in the Western Ghats.

Socially, Economically and Educationally Downtrodden (SEED), Tamil Nadu ($2,500 San Diego): Supporting teachers in the SEED-run primary/middle school, in Kanchipuram.

Vatsalya, Rajasthan ($5,600 State College): Supporting a water tank for the Udayan house for destitute children.
