"No pain, no gain", say Austin volunteers |
Feb 18, 2007 Austin, TX – Eight Austin volunteers ran full and half marathons, as the rest of the chapter cheered them through the arduous course. It all began in September 2006, when these volunteers decided to give up something to gain something, for India. They started training for the 2007 Marathon, waking up early on cold weekend mornings, and enduring athletic injuries from long distance running. These dedicated individuals conveyed their cause to family and friends – raising funds for AID projects. Thus, Run for India 2007 turned out to be one of the most successful fundraising campaigns for AID Austin, with over 130 donors contributing close to $25,000! -- Harish Sharma, Austin
