Recent Anti-Corruption projects in AID

AID chapters have initiated several projects to help effectively implement India's Right to Information (RTI) Act, that increases transparency, and the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), which promises 100 days of labor to all rural families.

RTI review, AID India, Rajasthan ($2500, Pittsburgh chapter). Document people's successes and challenges in using RTI.

RTI & NREGA, Asha Parivar, Uttar Pradesh ($14100, College Park, Philadelphia and Anti-Corruption Fund). Audit NREGA works in Hardoi district and help RTI process in 4 districts of UP.

Nisarga Trust, Andhra Pradesh ($5000, College Park). Securing NREGA livelihood for agricultural workers in Chittoor District.

RTI on Wheels, Janpath, Gujarat ($2900, College Station). Volunteers travel to towns and villages by van with audio video library, internet, radio, and phone helpline to hold RTI open houses and hands-on workshops.

[AID has set up a dedicated Anti-Corruption Fund (ACF) to sustain and expand such efforts.]
