Solar LED bank, Action Northeast Trust, Assam ($7625, Columbus chapter). Revolving fund to provide lowcost lighting solutions in rural Assam.

Kalpavriksh & Snow Leopard Conservancy, Jammu & Kashmir ($6625, Columbus). Interactive learning resources on people’s co-existence with the endangered snow leopard.

Environmental impact compliance, Kalpavriksh, Delhi ($5000, Austin). Quantifies non-compliance of development and infrastructure projects with EIA clearance conditions.

Computer education, Jagriti Bal Vikas Samiti, Uttar Pradesh ($4500, College Park). Basic computer education in schools, home and for vocational purposes.

Alleviating child labor, Samaj Unnayan Kendra, West Bengal ($2800, Portland). Bridge courses, health care and mid day meal for children, and self-help groups training women in making papad, zari, etc.

Soil conservation, Mozda Collective, Gujarat ($4600, Buffalo, Clemson and Dallas). Community builds and repairs bunds to improve soil moisture and prevent erosion of farm and forest lands.

Solar cooker training, Mozda Collective, Gujarat ($5000, Dallas). Villagers learn to make self-tracking parabolic solar cookers and test them for village cooking.

Agricultural livelihood work, Navnirman Trust, Karnataka ($13450, State College). To purchase tractor to be shared by union of Dalit women and marginal farmers  in Raichur district.

Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture (LEISA), AID Bangalore ($3400, Pittsburgh). Landless workers and farmers learn low-input agricultural techniques in Magadi, Kolar, Chitradurga and Raichur districts, Karnataka.

Village computer kiosks, Mann Vikas Samajik Sanstha, Maharashtra ($6100, Portland). Setup computer kiosks for farmers to get agricultural prices etc. in Mann Taluka.

Tribal Awareness and Bonded Labor Emancipation (TABLE), Lok Shikshan Sansthan & Prayas, Rajasthan. ($9000, Austin). Dalits and tribals fight for minimum wages and Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards; identify, free and rehabilitate bonded labour in Chittorgarh.
