RTI

Thanks to AID’s persistent efforts, the Embassy of India in Washington DC has implemented the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, bringing its operations fully under the Act's purview. Now any Indian citizen with a valid Indian passport can file an RTI application to the Public Information Officer at the Embassy for a fee of just 24 cents. The applicant should get a response within 35 days, else he/she can file an appeal to the Appellate Authority or later to the Chief Information Commissioner. Ready to file an application? Visit http://rti.aidindia.org.
