60 Years of India’s Independence: AID Seattle Celebrates
AID's newest chapter in the USA, Seattle, celebrates India's 60th Independence Day.

AID Seattle celebrated 60 years of India’s Independence by organizing an event called ‘India Quiz’. Before the quiz, volunteers gave a presentation about AID, and screened "Vaishnava Jana tho", an audio-visual presentation on AID’s work in India. The show received $3000 in volunteer hours, and $110 through donations. Audience participation was vociferous, with an attendance of more that a hundred people. The event also generated significant volunteer interest. In the words of one participant who signed up to become an AID volunteer, "The quiz was well organized and attended. It generated awareness in me, as to the groups and projects that I could become a part of, and learn from."
