Emergency flood relief in Mumbai

As we continue to grapple with the after effects of tsunami tragedy, we are faced with yet another affliction - inconceivably heavy floods in Mumbai and its neighboring regions. Nearly 3 lakh people have been rendered homeless. AID India in partnership with National Alliance of People's Movement (NAPM), Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Narmada Bachao Aandolan, YUVA and Shahar Vikas Manch is engaged in relief activities mainly involving 1) provision of food grains and management of community kitchens 2) providing medical aid 3) providing plastic sheets and bamboo for temporary shelter. To keep yourself updated on how relief efforts are progressing, and to learn about how you can contribute, visit http://aidindia.org/FloodRelief/
